Travel, what does it mean to you?
What do you get out of it?
Well for me travel is one of the best ways to open your eyes, ears, heart & soul to new experiences. With travel we get to realise that it doesn’t matter where people come from, most people are just like you and I, irrelevant of skin colour, language, what food they eat or what religion they follow. We all love to laugh, smile and enjoy the company of friends and family.
But there is more to travel than just the people you meet along the way. You get to experience great landscapes, different weather and animals in their natural environment.
Sometimes the biggest smile on your face comes from stumbling across the simple things in life, like a mother zebra grazing with her foal. This shot was taken in the Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa. It may not be the most dramatic or technically correct photo around, but every time I look at it a huge smile spreads across my face.
Over this day we saw many different wild animals, including elephant, giraffe and rhino; but there is something special about seeing a baby animal. I suppose it gives you hope that these animals are breeding and will be around for future generations to experience. Well, we can only hope.
